Osun State government of Osun has warned individuals and institutions against indiscriminate decontamination of public places.
The government has also directed individuals and institutions to confer with the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation for the decontamination of their premises in line with World Health Organisation approved standard.
In a press release signed by the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Sola Oladepo, owners or managements of private schools, tertiary institutions, hospitals, churches, mosques, police formations, banks, courts of justice, and small and medium enterprises, are expected to contact the Ministry of Environment for the decontamination of their premises in line with World Health Organisation standard.
Oladepo explained that only the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation was authorised to decontaminate in accordance with the World Health Organization standard, adding that all fumigated spaces shall be given a certificate by the ministry.
Oladepo also noted that the decontamination exercise from the stables of the ministry shall be at no cost to individuals and institutions requiring the service.
