Osun State government has denied reports that it had discharged all its coronavirus patients.
It explained that although it had made significant progress, it had not discharged all its cases.
According to it, there was still a case being treated.
The denial is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Siji Olamiju.
The statement reads:
This is to officially debunk the rumour making the rounds that the State of Osun has discharged its outstanding active case of COVID-19 from its Isolation and Care Centre, thus making the State free of coronavirus. The unfortunate fake news claimed that the disclosure was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor of the State of Osun on Public Health.
I neither granted an interview on any radio station, to any newspaper correspondent, nor signed a statement to make the alleged disclosure.
Although the State of Osun has made significant progress over the last few weeks, it still has an active case who is currently receiving treatment at the Asubiaro Isolation Centre. This is the official situation in the State with respect to the COVID-19 infection.
The public is hereby advised to ignore the misinformation and its peddlers, and only believe official statements from the State Government and its representatives.
