COVID-19: Nigeria records 196 new cases, total now 1,728

COVID-19 case update

Nigeria, on Wednesday, recorded 196 new cases of coronavirus, increasing the total in the country to 1,728.

Lagos has the highest number of 87 persons.

The announcement was made by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on it Twitter handle.

The tweets read:

“As at 11:55pm 29th April- 1728 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Discharged: 307

Deaths: 51

“As at April 29th 2020, #COVID19 confirmed cases have been reported in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
