Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, and his wife Abieyuwa, have tested positive for coronavirus.
The duo underwent the test on Monday after they showed slight symptoms of COVID-19, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Rauf Ajakaye, said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The two persons were however said to be very stable and in high spirit.
They were said to have started undergoing standard management protocols supervised by the government’s medical team.
Immediate contact tracing and tests, among other safety protocols, were said to have begun for persons who had met with the deputy governor and his wife in the past few days.
The government said it wished the couple and all others quick recovery.
