Corps members in Kwara State have been co-opted by the committee set up by the state government for supervision of the distribution of palliatives to the indigent and needy in the state in order to cushion the effects of lockdown.
According to the committee, two corps members would be allocated to each ward in all the local governments to ensure that the palliatives were distributed in line with the state government directive.
The state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Kwara State, Mrs. Olaleye Francisca appreciated the state government for entrusting the responsibility to the scheme.
She therefore admonished the corps members to be worthy ambassadors of the NYSC in the discharge of the assignment.
She added that the successful execution of the task would be a reference point in curtailing the spread of coronavirus.
The state government reiterated its commitment to the welfare and security of corps members in the state.
