The governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s health has improved, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, has announced.
Abayomi made the announcement on his Twitter handle on Monday.
His tweets read: “Update on #COVID19 status of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu.
“I am happy to inform you that the Governor of Lagos @jidesanwoolu is much better. He is however still in isolation and receiving home based care.”
The governor was announced to have contracted COVID-19 on December 12, 2020.
The health commissioner who announced the situation on his Twitter handle said: “Following Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s exposure to a confirmed case of #COVID19, a PCR test performed yesterday the 11th of December has confirmed that he has indeed been infected with the virus which is supported by mild symptoms and fatigue typical of a mild case of #COVID19.
“Mr Governor is receiving treatment and is being closely monitored at home by the very experienced State #COVID19 clinical team from IDH Yaba.
“Mr Sanwo-Olu is doing well on treatment and rest and we are confident that he will recover quickly and clear the virus.”
