A group of corps members serving in Ilorin, Kwara State, has put smile on the faces of not less than 15 widows with the distribution of food items and cash gifts.

The gesture according to one of the corps member, Mikhail Adekunle, was to cushion the effect of measures put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 on the widows in Ilorin, the state capital.

The state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Kwara State, Mrs Francisca Olaleye, applauded the corps members for the gesture.

The coordinator who spoke through the Assistant Director of Deployment and Relocation, Mrs Labake Adewuyi, urged the women to continue to pray for the corps members for the kind gesture.

She further restated that NYSC had been in the fore front in the fight against COVID-19, and had contributed in so many ways by also partnering with relevant agencies.

The corps members also sensitised the people of Ipata Market on the preventive measures to observe in battling COVID-19.

The sensitisation also featured the distribution of face masks and hand gloves.
