A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, presided over by Hussein Baba-Yusuf, has ordered the release of the passport of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The judge gave the order on Wednesday following a request to that effect by the counsel to Dasuki, Ahmed Raji.
He said the request was to allow for its renewal “for the purpose of a specialised medical consultation/review.”
The request for the release of the passport was not challenged by the counsel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Oluwaleke Atolagbe.
Dasuki is being tried by the EFCC over alleged case of corrupt practices involving N19.4 billion among other alleged sins.
Others charged along with Dasuki are former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda; former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa; his son, Sagir and Bafarawa’s company, Dalhatu Investment Limited.
It would be recalled that Dasuki was released from detention after about four years in the custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, in December.
His release was said to have been released on the directive of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, based on the bail conditions he had earlier been granted.
