The Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to intensify public enlightenment to stem the increase wave of coronavirus in the country.

This, he suggested, could be through the production of information about coronavirus in the major languages in the country.

Speaking at the plenary on Thursday, Obasa said doing that would make the information go farther than might have been envisaged by the government.

He said if people had listened and adhered to the instructions given on how to prevent the spread of the disease, the number of infected person would not have risen to the present number.

He said with the current situation, it had become imperative for the government to continue to push out more information on preventive measures.

He applauded the government on its decision to reduce the number of people in places of worship.

He also advised that the meetings with market women and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, should be regular for further enlightenment.
