Candidates seeking admission into Lagos State College of Nursing, LASCON, Igando, will have to sit for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, examination from this year, to study Nursing.
The Provost of the College, Mrs. Oyefunso Orenuga, made this known during a stakeholders meeting held at the college recently.
According to the Public Relations Officer of LASCON, Mrs. Folasade Adeniji, in a statement made available to FrontPage, Orenuga informed the participants that the college had been uploaded on JAMB portal.
She said beginning from this year, entrance examination into the college would be through JAMB and that any intending candidate should obtain the form picking the institution as a choice, and sit for the examination.
At the meeting, Orenuga expressed dismay over the activities of “some unauthorized individuals circulating information on the social media that the sale of form for the college is out, thereby defrauding people and extorting money from innocent candidates.”
She advised the general public not to pay money into an individual’s account or transact any business on the social media with regards to seeking admission into the college.
She informed that the college has a full accreditation from the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria, NMCN, and from the National Board of Technical Education, NBTE, to run a collegiate system of education in which students will be awarded the OND/HND certificate after the completion of the five years programme.
