The search and rescue operation at the site of the collapsed building at Yaba area of Lagos State has been concluded with a total of five bodies recovered.
Two persons survived the disaster.
According to Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, Acting Coordinator, South-West Zonal Office of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, the last body recovered was said to be of one Damola.
It was recovered at about 4.22 p.m.
The operation was said to have been concluded earlier until a family reported that one Damola was missing.
It was said that he was expected to be at the site of the collapsed building when the incident happened.
The operation was said to have continued and resulted in the recovery of Damola’s body.
According to Farinloye, the body was identified by members of his family.
His mother fainted, the NEMA official said.
Damola was said to be an intern.
Upon the last recovery, the carting of the rubbles was said to have continued.
The building collapsed Saturday.
One person was rescued while a boy also survived as he was away before the building collapsed.
The boy was said to have been sent on errand before the incident happened.
The building is located at 16 Akanbi Crescent, Off Adesina Street, Harvey, Sabo, Yaba.
Among government agencies on ground for the rescue operation were the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA; Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC and the Police.
