Ondo State National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Akpabio, has warned corps members that meeting with challenges on the way to achieving goals should not discourage them from attaining their goals.
Akpabio gave the warning while commissioning a solar powered renovated borehole and installation of street lights on the road to the Community Health Centre at Oge community in Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West local government area.
The project was carried out by a corps member, Oweiotu Ebi Tamaraefieye, serving at a school in the community.
The NYSC boss who was represented by the Zonal Inspector, Akoko Zone, Mr. Ademola Oyegbade, said she was impressed by the corps member for his sacrifice and zeal which made him to achieve his desire of leaving a legacy behind at his host community in spite of challenges.
In his goodwill message, the immediate past Caretaker Chairman, Akoko Northwest Local Government, Samson Akande, thanked the NYSC management for always posting corps members with vision to the council area.
He said that NYSC had remained focused despite all the challenges militating against the successful implementation of the aims and objectives of the laudable scheme.
The project initiator, corps member Oweiotu Ebi Tamaraefieye, who is also the Community Development Service CDS President for Oke-Agbe/Oyin-Akoko axis expressed appreciation to all those who made the project achievable.
He promised to build on his achievement and stop at nothing until the best was achieved.
The member of the service corps called on his colleagues never to lose hope in the project called Nigeria but should be positive at changing the hopeless situation, reminding them of the Oath of Allegiance they swore to at the entry point into the service.
The ceremony was well attended by political office holders, government functionaries and traditional chiefs.
