Rescue operation has resumed at the site of the 21-storey building which collapsed on Monday, with the hope that more people trapped will be rescued.
A top official of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, made this known on Tuesday.
He said all heavy equipment had begun work after a two-hour respite.
His words: “After a 2-hour rest for responders, all heavy equipment have started serious works.
“We are very hopeful of rescuing more people.”
It would be recalled that five persons have so far been rescued alive from the 21-storey building that collapsed on Monday in Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
Four dead bodies have also been removed from the ruins.
It is believed that many people were still trapped in the building as at the time of filing this report.
The owner of the property is said to have been arrested.
It was disclosed that 15 storey building was approved, but 21 was constructed.
Lagos State government has vowed to prosecute the owner of the property.
