Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has congratuled President Muhammadu Buhari over his re-election in the 2019 presidential election.

He described his victory as well-deserved.

Shittu also lauded the people of Oyo State, particularly the people of Oke Ogun area, who he said like they did in 2015 voted massively for the president and returned all the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the election.

He noted that their support was well appreciated.

The minister in the congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to FrontPage in Ibadan, described the election as a free and fair exercise which allowed for the will of the people of the country to prevail.

He stated that with President Buhari in the saddle for four more years, the country could not but move to its greatness.

According to him, with the reelection of Mr. President, Nigerians had shown that he had delivered on his electoral promises and would do more to move the country away from the rot of the past.

He stated further that Nigerians had through the reelection of President Buhari chosen prosperity over poverty, hope over despair and were ready to stand with him at all times in the interest of the country.

He said, “The reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari is nothing but an indication of the trust and confidence Nigerians reposed in his leadership to move Nigeria to the next level. It further shows that no doubt Nigerians are happy with the President as he has delivered on his electoral promises in fighting corruption, turning the economy around positively and provision of security.”

Shittu, while charging the people of Oyo State to continue to keep faith with the APC, stated that by supporting the party the state could not but enjoy more dividends of democracy under the leadership of President Buhari who he said had devoted his life to continue to serve the people of the country.
