The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, is reported to have contracted COVID-19.
He was said to be undergoing treatment already.
Shehu, according to Channels Television, confirmed contracting the disease, pointing out that he had mild symptoms.
This is despite being fully vaccinated.
He was quoted as saying, however, that he felt fine.
Garba Shehu was quoted as saying that he had gone into isolation and would go for further test to ascertain his status.
He was said to have also revealed that the Permanent Secretary at the State House, Tijjani Umar, and a few others at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, had undergone COVID-19 test.
He, however, said he did not know the outcome of their test.
Obviously in its fourth wave in Nigeria, the rate of infection has increased in the past few weeks.
Nigeria recorded 4,035 infections on Wednesday, being the highest single day figure in the country.
