President Muhammadu Buhari is to receive the students of the Government Science Secondary School, GSSS, Kanakara, Katsina, later today.

The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, made this known on his Twitter handle.

His words: “President @MBuhari will receive the rescued students of the Government Science Secondary School, GSSS, Kankara later this afternoon in Katsina.”

The boys were released on Thursday after spending six days in the den of their kidnappers.

They passed the night in Gusau, Zamafara State after their release before they were brought to Katsina on Friday.

The president had earlier reacted to their release, describing it as a big relief to their families, the entire country and the international community.

The president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, quoted the president as expressing the nation’s appreciation for the steps taken by all those involved to make their release possible.

“The Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and the army worked extremely hard. As soon as I got the information I congratulated them.

“The Armed Forces know their job. They have been well trained and properly motivated,” the president said.
