President Muhammadu Buhari has reconstituted the National Honours Awards Committee for a period of four years, starting from August 5, 2021

The reconstitution was carried out through the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.

The primary responsibility of the committee is to the president in identifying and conferring national hounours on deserving citizens of Nigeria and friends of the nation as provided in the National Honours Act Capt.N43 of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria,2004.

The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, George Akume, will inaugurate the committee at a date that would be announced in due course.

Members of the committee, according to Dr. Aondona Mkor, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the minister are:
