President Muhammadu Buhari will make a nationwide broadcast at 7.00 p.m. on Sunday.

A statement by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Sunday, enjoined television, radio and other electronic media outlets to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

Although the thrust of the broadcast was not stated, it is believed that it will be on coronavirus.

There had been pressure on the president to address the nation over the disease.

Many had argued that the silence of the president over the disease which had brought so much concern to the people of the world was disheartening.

It is expected that the president would give a list of some of the actions the government had taken to ensure the spread of coronavirus among other things.
