President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
The extension, according to the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, was to allow for proper selection of a replacement.
Adamu was due for retirement last Monday.
Dingyadi, who announced the development while speaking with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday, said the extension would be for three months.
