Buhari expresses concern over Emir of Daura’s sudden illness

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed concern over the sudden illness of Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar.

The emir was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina State.

Daura in Katsina State is the hometown of the president and he holds the traditional title of “Bayajidda” Daura.

The president prayed for the quick recovery of the emir.

According to his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari was said to have “received the news of the Emir’s sudden illness with concern and expressed best wishes for the speedy recovery of the monarch.”

“I join the Daura Emirate and the entire people of Katsina State in praying for the recovery of our humble and dedicated Emir, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar,” the president added.

The president also expressed satisfaction with the reported progress and recovery of the Emir since his hospitalisation, Shehu said.
