President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that he will not rely on rumours for results, but wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to announce the outcome of the presidential election.
Buhari made the declaration on Monday when he arrived Abuja after voting at the weekend in his home town, Daura in Katsina State.
The president who was asked to comment on the results released, said, “I don’t want to depend on rumours, but we will rather wait for INEC to announce the results.”
Already, the process that will lead to the final announcement of the winner in the presidential election has begun.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, led by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, declared open the collation centre on Sunday.
On Monday, it started taking the election results, state by state.
