President Muhammadu Buhari met with some governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was held shortly after the president returned to Abuja from Daura, Katsina State where he voted in the Governorship and House of Assembly election on Saturday.
At the meeting were Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna); Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Kassim Shetima (Borno); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa).
Although the governors kept sealed lips after the meeting, the meeting is believed to be in connection with the issues arising from the election held on Saturday.
The governorship election was declared inconclusive in some states – Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, Kano and Sokoto.
Electoral processes were also stopped in Rivers.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said it would announce the dates for the rerun in the states affected.
