The remaining four members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, kidnapped on Thursday have regained their freedom, thanks to the police.
They were rescued on Saturday by the team led by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama.
Those just rescued are Chidioze Eluwa, Chiemela Iroha, Okoro Ohowukwe and Ndubuizi Owuabueze.
“The remaining four victims have been rescued unhurt by men of Ogun State police command,” the spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement.
It would be recalled that the only female among them, Mrs Ibelegbo Chidinma, a deaconess, was rescued earlier.
Her rescue was announced Oyeyemi, in a statement earlier.
He expressed optimism that the remaining would soon be rescued.
General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, announced the kidnapping of the five pastors on Friday while addressing the congregation of the church at the camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The pastors were on their way to attend the church’s ministers’ conference in Lagos when they were kidnapped, he said.
Following the announcement, the police commenced work and announced that the location of the kidnappers had been known and that they had already embarked on the operation rescue operation.
The police however said care was being taken to ensure the victims were safely rescued.
