Ten new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria.
Three of the new cases are in Abuja while the remaining seven are in Lagos.
The announcement was made on the Twitter handle of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, @NCDCgov, on Saturday.
The tweet reads: “@Fmohnigeria has confirmed 10 new cases of #COVID19 in #Nigeria
“Of the 10 new cases, 3 are in the Federal Capital Territory and 7 are in Lagos.
“9 out of the 10 cases have travel history outside Nigeria in the last one week. The 10th case is a close contact of a confirmed case.”
With the ten new cases, the number recorded in Nigerian has risen to 22.
It would be recalled that the Italian who brought coronavirus to Nigeria was on Friday discharged in Lagos after he was certified as having fully recovered.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the discharge of the Italian in a series of tweets Friday night.
Indication that he was going to be discharged soon was made on Thursday when he was said to be awaiting the last test, having tested negative for the virus.
The Italian who arrived Nigeria from Milan on February 24, 2020 tested positive for the disease on February 28 was admitted.
39 persons said to have contact with him were quarantined.
One tested positive and soon recovered.
All of them have since been discharged.
