The Police in Lagos have arrested Nollywood star, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jennifer, over the birthday party for her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, popularly referred to as JJC Skillz.
JJC Skillz turned 43.
The party which was attended by a crowd from the entertainment industry was said to be a violation of the lockdown by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The order prohibits a gathering of more than 50 persons.
The police is already out to arrest some of the guests at the event including Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.
The arrest of Funke Akindele is contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of the Lagos Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, and made available to FrontPage.
The police warned the guests to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday or risk being declared wanted.
The statement reads:
Funke Akindele arrested for violating restriction orders in Lagos
Attention of Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband. Police detectives from the State CID Yaba were promptly drafted to the location.
Funke Akindele was arrested.
Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.
They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted.
