President Muhammadu Buhari has formally launched Nigerian digital currency, e-Naira.
The currency was launched at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday and attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Also present among other dignitaries were the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
The e-Naira, according to the CBN was designed to advance the boundaries of payment system with the aim of making financial transactions easier.
It promised to make the digital currency accessible by all.
