President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday broadcast to the nation at 7 p.m. with a repeat at 9 p.m.
All television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are expected to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Although the details of the broadcast to the nation are not stated, it is believed that it has to do with the general election with the presidential starting on Saturday.
On Wednesday, a peace accord was signed by the presidential candidates, with Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, featuring prominently.
They both advocated for a free and fair election.
Prominent Nigerians were present at the event which took place in Abuja.
The peace accord signing was organized by the National Peace Committee headed by former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
