Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has won the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This has made him the presidential candidate of the leading opposition party in the 2023 general election.
At the special national convention of the PDP held in the velodrome at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, Atiku polled 371 votes to beat his closest rival, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.
Wike polled 237 votes.
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, polled 70 votes; Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel polled 38 votes; Bala Mohammed had 20 votes while former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim polled 18 votes.
Ohuabunwa polled one vote.
