The All Progressives Congress, APC, chairman in Nasarawa State, Philip Shekwo, abducted on Saturday has been found dead.
Shekwo was abducted at his residence at about 11.00 p.m.
His death was confirmed on Sunday by the spokesman of the police in Nasarawa State, Raman Nansel.
His remains were said to have been deposited at the morgue for post mortem.
Earlier in the day, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bola Longe, disclosed that operatives had been deployed to comb the various forests and flashpoints in the state to ensure his rescue.
