Several members of the terrorists group, Boko Haram, were killed in an attack carried out by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole near Baga in Northern Borno, Borno State.
The Nigerian Air Force Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, made this known on Sunday.
Stating that the attack was carried out on the hideouts of the terrorists on Saturday, he said it followed the discovery of NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform.
The platform discovered the terrorists assembled under some trees around the Fish Dam near Baga and an Alpha Jet aircraft was dispatched to attack the location.
“The aircraft multiple attack passes, killing several of the terrorists and causing serious injuries to others.
“The surviving terrorists were mopped-up in subsequent follow on strikes,” Daramola said.
