The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the Bayelsa State election held on Saturday, David Lyon, has been declared the winner.
He defeated his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, opponent, Duoye Diri, polling 352,552 votes.
Diri polled 143, 172 votes.
The announcement of the winner was made by the Returning Officer in the election, Faraday Orumwese, Monday morning.
Faraday Orumwese is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin.
The total number of registered voters, according to INEC, was 922, 562 and the number of accredited voters was 517,883.
