The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has carried out its threat to stall activities at the nation’s airports in protest against the continuous shutting down of public universities across the country.
The students under the aegis of NANs, blocked the Murtala Muhammed Airport way very early Monday morning causing gridlock.
Security agents have been deployed to the area to forestall violence.
The students are protesting the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, strike which started on February 14 and has resulted in closure of all federal universities in Nigeria.

The lecturers, who have since refused to call off their strike, are demanding from the government better funding and equipment of the universities and increase in remunerations.
It would be recalled that the students had at different times blocked the Ibadan-Ife Expressway and Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in protest on the same issued.
They had vowed to take the protests to airports in the country.
Meanwhile, in the bid to find a lasting solution to the crisis, the House of Representative is to meet stakeholders on Tuesday at the National Assembly.
