The Apostolic Covenant Outreach International, ACOI, is to carry out a free medical outreach at Lemode area of Ifo local government area, Ogun State on June 12, 2023.
The event which will start at 10.00 a.m. will be held at Ibukunoluwa Community Hall, Lemode, Ifo local government area, Ogun State.
Features of the programme include Health Talk, Free Medical Care and Free Drugs.
The programme, according to the convener, Mr. Osevbobo Babatunde Henry, is open to the general public irrespective of their religious or ethnic leanings.
In a statement made available to FrontPage, the convener stated that the programme which was started in 2021 was to support humanity and make the world a healthier place for all.
The statement reads in part: “The programme is informed by our organisation’s passion to give back to humanity. Though we are a faith-based organisation, we strongly believe that we are all humans first before we become religious. We also discovered that it is only when people are healthy that they can serve God.”
The group added that it saw the need to stop avoidable deaths which occur over the years as a result of self-medication and unprofessional health practices.
Giving details of the programme, the group said there would be lectures to be delivered by a medical doctor and a nurse.
The titles of the lectures, the group said are, Dangers associated with self medication – Way forward and Menopause – A woman’s world.
The group said those who could not afford to seek test and get drugs for the ailments would be supported with the free test and available drugs.
The group stated that although it was solely responsible for the sponsorship of the programme, it would be happy to get the support of well-meaning Nigerians.
The group expressed satisfaction with its achievements, so far, saying many lives and had been touched positively.
