The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Friday expressed its determination to fight for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over his alleged involvement in a N90 billion scam.
Mr. Timi Frank, a former spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had alleged that Osinbajo mismanaged N90 billion meant for campaign in the last election and released by the Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS.
FIRS has denied releasing such a money.
Osinbajo has also since denied the claim and filed a suit against Frank.
But speaking after a visit to the vice president on Friday, the President of CAN, Dr. Samson Ayokunle, said Osinbajo had denied the claim and that those making it should come out with their evidence.
Addressing journalists at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abuja, CAN president said: “He has cleared the air that the allegation is baseless and there is no truth in it and that some people are plotting against him and he was ready to provide himself to be cleared.”
He added: “If there is an allegation there must be evidence and that it can never happen and will never happen. The church and the entire country will fight for him.”
