Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, on Saturday restated her commitment to promoting the socio-economic development of women in Nigeria.
“I want to use this opportunity to reaffirm my commitment towards promoting the socio-economic and political advancement of women through my Future Assured Programme,” she said.
Aisha Buhari who spoke at an event organised by the wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dolapo, to celebrate the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the presidential election said the importance of the role of women and youths in the victory could not be overemphasized.
“I must particularly mention the role played by the Women and youth Presidential Campaign Team which I initiated to complement the efforts of the Presidential Campaign Council,” she said.
While expressing the appreciation of the president, she appealed to Nigerians to continue to support the success of the government.
Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, in her remarks thanked women and youths for the success recorded in the general election.
She said they were quite supportive and contributed to the success reasonably.
