Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has declared that the contributions of Samuel Agweh, Ama Etuwewe and Ayo Asala, to the legal profession remain inspiring.

According to the governor, the three men were outstanding as lawyers.

Okowa made the declaration while congratulating the three of them on their elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.

He said in a statement on by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, that he received with joy the news of the appointment of the three illustrious Deltans to the enviable position of SANs.

The governor urged the new silks to continue to be worthy ambassadors of Delta, adding that they should ensure that there was high professionalism in the temple of justice.

“As a state we are proud to see our sons and those living and practising in our state making real progress in the latest appointments to silk.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate Messrs Samuel Agweh, Ama Etuwewe and Ayo Asala on their elevation to the prestigious inner bar.

“Your sound command of the practice and ethics of the profession undoubtedly earned you your promotion to the enviable rank of Senior Advocate.

“I must remind our new Silks that their conferment comes with a privilege which puts them in an onerous position of responsibility to provide leadership, morally and professionally.

“As leaders in the legal profession, your elevation places on you a crucial responsibility of providing tutelage to young lawyers.

“It, therefore, behoves you as Senior Advocates, to groom young lawyers well, not only in the practice of law but also in the ethics of the legal profession,” he stated.
