Algeria’s national team will meet Senegal in the final of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.
It defeated Nigeria at the semi-final 2 – 1, on Sunday.
Earlier, Senegal defeated Tunisia by 1- 0.
To qualify for the semi-final, the Super Eagles defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa, by 2 – 1
The Federal Government sent a delegation led by the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan to cheer the Super Eagles.
Lawan said the delegation was to boost the morale of the players.
His words: “I am confident that our boys will today reenact their winning streak in their determination to win the trophy, and they need all of our support including our physical presence.”
In the delegation among others are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
