Ado-Odo/Ota: Support census officials, council boss charges stakeholders

In a bid to ensure a smooth take off of enumeration area demarcation ahead of the National Population Census, Ado-Odo/Ota local government chairman, Mr. Sherif Musa, has called on relevant stakeholders for cooperation.

The council boss made the call when he met with stakeholders including the council of bale in the area, recently.

Speaking at the occasion, the Local Government Comptroller of National Population Commission, Mr. Folami Muka, explained that Ado-Odo/Ota was the last local government to carry out the enumeration area demarcation in Ogun State.

He said 25 teams of eight officials had been deployed to work in the 16 wards of the local government, stressing that the need for the stakeholders to provide accommodation for officials who would carry out the duties.

While calling on the stakeholders to show officials the boundaries in INEC registration areas, he announced that the enumeration area demarcation would commence on Monday.

He said the exercise would precede the head count which was expected to take place across the country next year.

Alhaji Aminu Taofeek, Zonal ACDC chairman, assured the commission of the support of the community leaders.

The chairman, Council of Baales in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Chief Rasheed Faluyi, equally pledged the support of the traditional leaders towards the success of the exercise.

The Principal Officers of the Legislative Council, led by Bukola Balogun Omosowon, promised to use their offices to provide accommodation for the officials and make their stay in the local government comfortable.

Present at the meeting too was immediate past chairman of the local government, Alhaji Wasiu Lawal.
