Abiodun at 60: MAPOLY praises him on educational development

The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has congratulated the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

It praised him for his achievement in the areas of education, particularly as it affected MAPOLY.

In a statement by the Head, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Yemi Ajibola, the management said the institution, which was on the verge of extinction, was revived with his timely intervention by returning it to status quo ante by law.

The singular pronouncement, it said, necessitated the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, to revalidate and reinstate the institution for full academic activities with the full support of the state government.

By the development, the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun, gave approval of bailout funds to settle ten months backlog of salaries to MAPOLY staff, owed by the immediate erstwhile administration, the school management said.

It added: “To further ensure enabling academic environment in the polytechnic, palliative work on MAPOLY campus road was initiated and completed while allocation of 100 hectares of land for  anchor borrowers programme to MAPOLY staff and students was also approved.”

The Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji described the Abiodun as “Moses to the Egyptians” regarding his impact on the development of the polytechnic.

Odedeji pledged that the “institution shall continue to key into the standard educational projects of Ogun State as we support in building our future together”.

He prayed that Almighty God would satisfy the governor with long life and strengthen him to fulfill his destiny.
