How we rescued Daura District Head, Umar-Uba -Police

The Police on Tuesday spoke on how its operatives rescued the Daura District Head, Alhaji Musa Umar-Uba, who was kidnapped about three months ago.

Umar-Uba was rescued on Tuesday by the Police in Kano.

According to the Kano State Police Command, the district head was rescued unhurt by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response team’s Operation Puff Adder Intelligent Response Team, in conjunction with Kano State Police Command.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Abdullahi, in a statement made available to journalists, said the operation that led to his rescue was conducted on Monday night in Kumbotso local government area of the state.

Specifically, he said, it was carried out at Gangan Ruwa Quarters, Kumbotso local government area at 8:00 about p.m. on Monday.

“The operation was conducted at 2000hrs and Magajin Garin Daura, was rescued unhurt, arrests were made and arms and ammunition recovered.”

The police officer however did not disclose the number of suspects arrested.

He said the area had been cordoned off and efforts were ongoing to make more arrests.
