Senator Bala Mohammed of the People’s Democratic Party has been declared the winner of the governorship election in Bauchi State.
With 515, 113 votes, he defeated the incumbent governor, Mohammed Abubakar, who polled 500,625 votes.
Bala won with 14,488 votes.
Abubakar is the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate.
Mohammed was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Mohammed Kyari.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, who spoke on the outcome of the election, called on politicians to take defeat in good faith, saying, “in any contest there will be a winner and a loser.”
