The proprietor of Calvary Heritage Schools, Ijoko-Lemode, Ogun State, Pastor Bayo Ogundipe, has declared that parents owe their children good education to enable them have a better future.
Ogundipe made the declaration on Friday during the graduation ceremony for the 2021/2022 Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS 3) set of students of the school.
He said with a good educational background, the children and wards would have been well prepared for the future.
He explained that good education would any day serve as a good and sure ladder to get to the top in life.
The parents, he therefore urged, should do everything humanly possible to create that opportunity for their children, especially at the “crucial period that they are leaving secondary school.”
Ogundipe who explained that the poor economic situation in the country was not going to get better soon and that the level of depravity in the country would continue to worsen asserted that the major way out was to get one’s children well educated in preparation for the challenges ahead.
He warned that the education of the secondary school leavers should not be made to terminate at that level as they still had the future before them.
He said terminating their education at the secondary school level would amount to denying them the endless opportunities which include network, networth, confidence and more in the future.
His words: “You owe these children a good educational foundation to face the future and to make life better for them. Life’s challenges will continue to be more; the economic situation is not going to get better…
“We must therefore work to ensure that they succeed more than we do by leaving a legacy of good education for them.”
For emphasis, Ogundipe spelt out some of the major benefits of education which he described as essential for the development of any individual and the nation.
Said he: “Education gives confidence in life.
“Education prepares you for the future.
“Education will prepare you for opportunities.
“Education gives you a voice and a say.
“Education makes you a global citizen.
“Education makes your creativity to blossom.
“Education gives you a rich network (the quality of your networth is determined by your network) and
“Education gives you a good job and a good pay.”
Ogundipe prayed for the success of the children and the ability of the parents to continue to create the enabling environment for the future of their children in all ramifications.
Also speaking at the occasion, the principal of the school, Mr. Stephen Abuchi, charged the graduating students to be determined to get to the top in life.
That, he said, could be achieved by being focused and determined.
He said they should pursue their dreams until they make them real.
Abuchi also urged the parents to continue to guide the graduating students on the right path in order to achieve success.
