The Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to stop the collation of results of the Rivers State Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
INEC had initially stopped electoral processes of the March 9 governorship election at the collation stage following widespread violence in Rivers.
However, following the report of a committee it set up to look at the issues responsible for the stoppage of the process, INEC on Saturday resolved to continue.
It said that it would announce the date of resumption on March 20 just as it blamed the military for being partly responsible for the disruption that led to the stoppage of the process.
But following a suit against the decision to continue the collation process, INEC was ordered to stop work.
The suit was filed by the African Action Congress against INEC and the Peoples Democratic Party among others
