Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, is a living legend and an incomparable enigma in the political governance and development firmament of Nigeria.
The Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Setonji Koshoedo, made the assertion on Sunday on the occasion of the 85th birthday of Obasanjo.
In a congratulatory message to the former president, the PDP chieftain said Obasanjo had earned his medals through an uncommon commitment to the ideals of socio-economic growth and development of the nation, altruistic tendencies of wanting for others what he wanted for himself.
According to Koshoedo, a former member of the House of Representatives, ”the Balogun Owu’s knack for expressing his views on critical national issues has etched his name in gold and Nigeria’s march to greatness.”
While describing his trajectory as nothing short of being divinely arranged, he added that Obasanjo had not only become an institution, but equally remained unmatchable just as his profile continued to rise internationally because of his sustained commitment to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and humanity.
Quoting Maya Angelou who said “You can only become great at that thing you’re willing to sacrifice for”, the PDP Deputy National Secretary said that was not only true of the celebrating two-time Nigerian Head of State/President, but was apparent to all and sundry.
While further celebrating with Obasanjo, Koshoedo wished him many more years of continued positively fruitful service to his fatherland.
