Corps members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, 2020 Batch B, Ondo State completed their Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, on Thursday.

The central aim of SAED is to build the capacity of young graduates as well as provide the enabling conditions for them to cope with challenges of unemployment and achieving wealth creation.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of corps members who enlisted for post-camp trainings, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani said that SAED would continue to make meaningful impacts on the lives of people in the society.

“SAED, as a component part of orientation course content, is one of the remarkable achievements of NYSC, which since establishment in 2012 has been serving as a veritable answer and reference point to corps members’ post service unemployment,” she said.

According to the state coordinator, the trainings received at the centre was second to none and could not be compared to what was obtainable outside because of the training modules and professional competence of the trainers/facilitators.

She used the platform to encourage corps members who were yet to decide on what to do to take advantage of the highly subsidised training with a flexible payment plan to join the winning team.

Ani, who was represented by the Assistant Director/Head, SAED Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma, lauded the trainers/facilitators for their untiring efforts geared towards promotion of ‘corpreneurship’ and raising future captains of industries as well as establish outstanding small and medium scale business owners.

The corps graduands appreciated the NYSC scheme for providing them with platform to develop their entrepreneurship potentials and become well equipped individuals to create wealth as well as create jobs.

The colourful and well attended event, being the first since post COVID -19 era, featured testimonies, experience sharing, exhibition, drama presentation and practical demonstration of skills in fashion and design, barbing and decoration and event planning.
