President Muhammadu Buhari should rise above primordial sentiments and sectional attachment if Nigeria must become safe, president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Wale Oke, has warned.

Oke gave the warning on Wednesday while receiving state chairmen of the state chapters of the PFN from Lagos, Ogun and Osun states.

Oke who emerged PFN president recently said Buhari’s silence over the spate of violence carried out by people of his geo-political zone suggested his indulgence and pampering of the criminals.

He said except he rose beyond sectional sentiments and did the needful, Nigeria would continue to be unsafe.

His words: “The silence of President Muhammadu Buhari over the degenerating security situation in Nigeria is too loud and this is very disturbing.

“Seriously, President Buhari’s silence is deafening and it’s giving room for speculations and gossips that suggest the government has a hand in the sickening situation by indulging and pampering the bandits and the killer Fulani herdsmen, among others.

“He (Buhari) should rise above primordial sentiments and sectional attachment by doing the needful to make the nation safer for every Nigerian.”
