A Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, bus with 45 passengers caught fire on Monday at Idi-Iroko Bus Stop along Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
The bus was heading to Tafawa Balewa Square Terminal, Lagos Island, from Ikorodu when the fire incident occurred.
The bus was said to be on a mission to evacuate passengers from another bus which broke down.
The incident happened at about 11.00 a.m. and all passengers were rescued unhurt.
The bus which initially conveyed the 45 passengers, it was gathered, broke down at Owode area making the second bus to come in on a rescue mission.
The rescue operation during the fire incident was carried out by National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, police disaster management unit and the fire service.
