Ojora’s death: Police commence investigation, warn against speculations

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dapo Ojora, a socialite and brother in law to former governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

A Polo buff, Dapo who is the son of boardroom guru, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, and his wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, was reported to have shot himself in the head on Friday at his residence in Lagos.

The commencement of the investigation was announced by the spokesman of the police in Lagos, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement.

He added that the Lagos State Police Command had also urged the general public to disregard media speculations making waves on the cause of his death until investigation was concluded.

The investigation, Adejobi stated, was instituted by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, with aim of unraveling the cause of his death.

He said the police command condemned all sorts of speculations making round in the media about the cause of his death.

“These are not only unfounded and baseless but could jeopardise police investigation on Dapo’s death.

“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, while commiserating with the family, friends and business partners of the deceased, assures that police experts in the Homicide Section of the command’s State CID will do the needful on the investigation.”
