PDP Democrats, a group in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, has described former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, as a confused person following his claim that Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, were behind the assault on him on Wednesday.

Fayose’s cap was removed by a hoodlum at the PDP campaign rally for the Ondo State governorship election in Ondo on Wednesday.

But reacting to the claim by Fayose that Makinde and George were behind the assault, the chairman of the PDP Demcorats in Lagos, Tajudeen Abinuwaya, said the former Ekiti State governor was confused.

In a statement he issued, the PDP chieftain said by his claim, Fayose was only trying to whip up emotion about his encounter with some youths in Ondo State.

He said having openly apologised to all the people he had wronged right on the podium in his very brief remarks at the occasion, it was shocking and outrageous for him to suddenly start pointing accusing fingers at his “phantom enemies.”

Describing Fayose as one known to be reckless and abusive, particularly towards elders in general, he said his outburst should be ignored.
