The Founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Samuel Babatunde, popularly known as Babatunde Alfa, has been sentenced to life imprisonment over the “disappearance” of Gold Kolawole, a one year old boy.
The child was found to be missing in the prophet’s church in Akure Ondo State in November 2019.
Also jailed along with him are five other persons.
They are, Omodara Olayinka; Margaret Oyebola; Grace Ogunjobi; Egunjobi Motunrayo and Esther Kayode.
Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo State High Court which sentenced them, said they were found guilty of the charges of kidnapping and aiding and abetting to kidnap.
According to the judge, the verdict was given following the “circumstantial evidence” proved against the accused persons.
